Leaders Light the Way Memorial Scholarship 2.0
If you haven’t heard, the Right of Way Education just announced a new scholarship program. The Foundation will be providing one $2500 scholarship to each chapter in the Association this year. This scholarship is to only be used toward IRWA courses but they are for in-person, online or virtual courses and the courses must be taken between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2025. This is a great opportunity for someone in our Chapter. The qualifications are fairly simple – you must be an active member for the past two years, and complete the online application which asks you to complete 3 questions. This is a change from last year’s scholarship which had more requirements.
The Foundation is really wanting to give out these scholarships and this is a great opportunity. Chapter 3 member Barry Bliss received the scholarship last year and now is a new opportunity for one of you. Deadline for submittal is March 1, 2023, but don’t wait!!
The online application is on the RWIEF website – www.rwief.org or also on the IRWA website www.irwaonline.org. The application is not too obvious on the IRWA website and I hope we can fix it – go to the Education Tab on the Home Page, Select Students Tab and the drop down menus has “Scholarship Programs” Tab, Select this link for Leaders Light the Way Memorial Scholarship 2.0 – and fill out the form.
If you scroll down on this page you will see the winners of last year’s scholarship – it is very exciting to know our Chapter was awarded one of the scholarships.
You can use these classes for your general knowledge, help toward your designation or recertification. It’s free money folks!
